Discussing lighting in our groups

Today we got together in our groups and discussed all the lighting elements we will have in the music video; so that we can show our ideas to the lighting expert, who we will meet in the following days, to discuss the possibilities of our lighting idea.

1st Lighting element: This is the wheel, we will have trace paper at the back of the wheel so that it evenly distributes the light throughout the inside of our wheel. This will also give our singer a more visible and striking silhouette. The trace paper is a translucent material which will also disguise the light at the back of the wheel.

2nd Lighting element: We will have staggered rows of neon tubes (we would like around 10 -15). The neon lights will be placed in staggered rows behind each other as shown in the diagram.

We would like them in rows to allow our singer to move in and around the tubes and to have room to perform.

3rd Lighting element: We will have one screen (made of trace) lit brightly from behind and then from in front, so that we can see the artist and dancers from behind and in front of the screen.

4th Lighting element: For the last lighting element we will have the words “Are you that somebody” written out with neon lights. This will be featured at the start and at the end of the song. At the end when it is shown, the sign will flicker and then turn off.
